Notice10 October 2026

The world is open: play Cronous in your browser

Cronous Reborn is playable today. The client runs entirely in a browser tab: WebGL rendering, the original zones, classes, items and music, no download and no installer. Register an account from the title screen, make a hero, and you arrive in Castle Cronous with starter supplies.

One world, one channel. Server status is shown live on the Play & Support page. This is an open test of a restoration project: expect maintenance restarts, and tell us what breaks on the Support page.

Update29 September 2026

Six more zones released, and Castle Cronous has a day

Evil Cunabula, Monster Mill, Oke Town, Forgotten Pathway, Cliff Cave and Ketter's Temple are open, with their creatures, service NPCs and hunting routes. Hidden Village's purple paving is back to the stone it was. Castle Cronous now cycles through eight phases of light across the server day.

Also in this release: running legs now match how fast you actually travel, and very high-DEX ordinary attacks are capped at 1.25× speed so the swing you see is the swing that lands.

Update28 September 2026

Reclass training and the level 300 cap

Second-class and Reclass heroes can now be trained by the Master, and the level cap for them rises to 300 with an extended curve. Experience earned past the old cap before this release was banked and is credited exactly once.

Update21 September 2026

Item identity, rolled options and inventory smelting

Items now carry their real identity and variant names with packaged Damage and Defense; drops and combination results roll options at 50 / 35 / 15; and smelting works from the inventory. Enhancement scaling is built but held at ×1 until its numbers are approved.

OS-agnostic play: the DirectX-only Windows client is retired

The Classic client demanded a Windows PC, a download and a manual patch cycle. The reborn client streams into any modern browser on macOS, Windows, Linux, ChromeOS and Steam Deck, and patches itself when you reload.
